MEET THE NEW OWNERS OF TÍR NA NÓG INN
We are so excited to meet you, but first, we are renovating!
Excited doesn't begin to describe how we feel about moving to the community of St. Peter's Bay.
We are thrilled to have purchased the Tír na nóg Inn and are settling in quite nicely.
With the Pandemic restrictions in place it gives us an opportunity to renovate a bit more prior to opening in 2020. Date of opening will depend on PEI's restrictions regarding Covid 19.
Please continue to call now for your reservation for remainder of the 2020 season!
We invite you to follow the progress on our blog.
Looking forward to seeing you soon, Rodger & Sarah
About our Home
The house was built in the 1870's for John P. Sullivan, a prominent merchant and farmer in the village of St. Peter's Bay.
It is characterized as being influenced by Second Empire architectural styles which include the dominant mansard roof with dormers. In 1915 the home became the Manse for the adjacent Presbyterian (now United) church, until the early 1960's. The front parlour in the house was a favorite spot for many couples to be married in. Since the late 1990's it has operated as a Bed and Breakfast welcoming guests from around the world. The Tír na nÓg Inn is a provincially registered Heritage Place * Click here to read an extended history *
Today we invite you to spend some holiday time in our comfortable home,
enjoy the fresh air, sights and sounds of the area, and soak in the PEI way of life!
Rodger and Sarah hail from the Town of Almonte, in the beautiful Ottawa Valley in Eastern Ontario; They met in grade 7 attending Naismith Memorial Public School (Almonte is the hometown for Dr James Naismith, Inventor of Basketball !)
Rodger is the youngest of 5 kids, born to Dutch Immigrants who came to Canada in 1953. He grew up in a family of welders and learned the trade at a young age working with his Dad. His background also includes Facility and Health & Safety Management, Construction Management, contracting and home renovations. Rodger has four children - Taylor, Melissa, Ainsley and Zoe, and is proud Opa to Nash and newborn Adeline.
Sarah is one of four children, with an older brother and sister born in Britain, and herself and younger brother born in Canada, after their parents emigrated from England in 1965. Sarah has spent her work years in hospitality after studying at the School of Hotel and Food Administration at the University of Guelph, then partnered to open a popular restaurant and catering company in 1990 that was featured on The Food Network's 'You Gotta Eat Here' . In 2010 she transitioned into weddings and events, opening a party and event rental company servicing dozens of events each week! Sarah has four amazing sons, Ray, Blake, Austin and Jamie.
Together, Rodger and Sarah look forward to embracing PEI 's 'island way of life', and St. Peter's Bay as their new hometown, and welcoming you into their new home - the Tír na nÓg Inn!
We are renovating our main floor parlour, library, Breakfast room and three bedrooms over the next four months and will add photos as each room is completed.

We are spending our Winter months shortlisting our breakfast favorites!
We'll give you options....
Dietary restrictions can be accommodated, advance notice is appreciated.
Dine with Us
(offered during the Winter season)
Our community slows down after the busy summer, and there are some lovely restaurants in near by communities, but as well as providing you with the B & B Experience, we would love you to join us for dinner!
What you can expect
family style main course
dessert & coffee
We cook from scratch, using local ingredients as available. We regret we cannot offer you a shellfish based menu as Sarah is anaphylactic to shellfish (how sad is that moving to PEI !)
Simply give us notice at time of booking or when you check in and you can join us for dinner!
We are also a licensed facility.
Tír na nÓg Pack a Lunch
Situated right on the Confederation Trail, a bike or hike is a beautiful way to spend a day. In Winter, the trail becomes part of the PEI Snowmobile Association Trail - right at our door!
We can pack you a hearty lunch to take on the trails with you the next morning! We will provide you with some 'main' choices, and surround it with homemade, wholesome and tasty sides and treats!!
Things to Do
A day in our Village....
Walk to St Peter's Landing - a boardwalk of local shops, around the corner enjoy a meal at Rick's Fish & Chips, or other local restaurants close by. Spend the afternoon kayaking in the bay, walk or bike along the Confederation Trail that is just outside our front door! (in winter, the Confederation Trail is leased to the PEI Snowmobile Association - over 600 km to enjoy!) . Take in a show at the Courthouse Theatre, and on Friday evenings join in the local Celeigh!
Holidaying is about doing as much or as little as you want, and while we would invite you to sit all day on the verandah overlooking the Bay curled up with a good book, there is so much more to do close by, and all over this beautiful Island!
We list a few attractions here, however, we encourage you to visit
for extensive and up to date events listings and tourist info.
St Peter's Bay is a beautiful stop on the Points East Coastal Route.
A short 8 minute drive will bring you to Greenwich National Park. Spend a day at this beautiful beach and enjoy not only the sand and gentle waves, but also the largest sand dunes on the island; boardwalks, trails, and the Greenwich Interpretation Centre.
If you are a golfer - welcome to paradise- PEI is Canada's #1 golf destination! The Links at Crowbush Cove is closest to our door just 12 minutes up the road, Brudenell River, Dundarave, Avondale, Belfast Highland Greens all within an hour.
